Ironman 70.3 Arizona – Volunteers Needed

The CdS Band Boosters have been asked to volunteer at the IRONMAN 70.3 Arizona event on October 22nd. The IRONMAN 70.3 Arizona will be funding groups for volunteers through their grant program. We committed to 30 volunteers

Set at the same venue as the wildly popular IRONMAN Arizona, this race is the perfect tune-up for the full-distance race in November, or just a great way to get out and compete in a half-distance event in a phenomenal setting.

The race begins at Tempe Beach Park, just west of the Mill Avenue Bridge. The swim takes place in a calm, manmade lake with water temperatures in the mid 60s. The three-loop (each loop is 18.5 miles) bike course is a relatively flat and winds through Tempe before offering some scenic vistas of the Sonoran desert. The two-loop run follows a 6.5-mile loop around Tempe Town Lake with some great views of Arizona State University and the developing landscape of Tempe.

Our volunteer time is:

10/22/2017 12:30 p.m.  10/22/2017 4:30 p.m.
This team of volunteers provides hydration, food, and motivation to athletes at specific stations throughout the run course.
